"Ojousama no Untenshu" has been Licensed by Viz/Shoujo Beat

Hooray!!! "Ojousama no Untenshu" has been licensed! It will be available from Viz/ Shoujo Beat as "The Heiress and the Chauffeur". The first volume will be released in May 2016. Please support the mangaka and Shoujo Beat licensing by purchasing the book when it goes on sale. As usual, the series have been removed from the Crimson Flower server (Haha -- I changed the group name to Crimson Flower because of this series. Hee!) and I deactivated the dead links.

At last! The final chapter! It's always bittersweet to finish a series. It's nice to tick a project off my to-do list, but at the same time I'm going to miss theses characters. Overall, I'm pleased with the way this series ends. I like the way Sayaka sticks up for herself in the end against her father.  There are two short omakes after this (LINK)

We're coming down to the last two chapters of "Ojousama no Untenshu." I think chapter 8 goes against my expectation of how the story was going to proceed after the kiss in chapter 7. I like the way Sayaka thinks the situation through and how both Sayaka and Narutaki arrive at their decision at the end. We are very much reminded above all that Narutaki is an adult and he wants to do the responsible thing.

This chapter ends weirdly. It's meant to blend into chapter 9. For that reason, we'll release chapter 9 tomorrow (proofreaders willing) so there won't be a prolonged awkward pause.

"Ojousama no Untenshu" Chapter 7 -- THE ROMANCE!!!

I have read this chapter a great many times. This chapter of "Ojousama no Untenshu" is currently my favorite thing (next to the apple pie I ate last night.  Man, do I wish I had more of that.) Anyhow, it's the chapter we've all been waiting for.  When I saw this chapter in Lala DX a couple of years ago, I knew we had to translate this series.  OMG! SO FRIGGIN' ROMANTIC!!!

Okay, I won't keep you from your romance any longer.

"Ojousama no Untenshu" Chapter 5

Events are progressing in "Ojousama no Untenshu" and soon Sayaka will have to make a choice. I'm actually about to burst out of my skin because I want to get to chapter 7 and chapter 8 already. But we still have to get through chapter 6.  Anyhow, this is a cute chapter, though the path to cuteness requires a stop over with a character I want to slap the crap out of.  Heheh, but it wouldn't be any good if I didn't want to slap this dude. I think, though this chapter begins setting up for the final resolution of the story which most of you won't see coming.  Haha! Yes, there are a couple of twists, but if you consider Sayaka's personality, the ending is obvious.

Also, check out the many beautiful drawings of Narutaki.  Amrai, the translator, likes page 36. I like the drawing at the bottom of page 23 (going by the page number of the PDF). Page 26 is also adorable.

Enough of my rambling before I spoil the entire series.  On to the release!

"Ojousama no Untenshu" Chapter 4

Here's chapter 4 as promised! It's the older-woman-hits-on-Narutaki chapter we all expected. Get your eye-rolls over with now.  Forget the pretty older lady, what's entertaining here is Sayaka's reaction to Narutaki's and Miss Fumi's relationship.  Now that this expected chapter is over with, guess what comes next??? Geez, I wonder could Sayaka's father could have picked out a fiancee for Sayaka. Noooooo, that would never happen. That would be be way too predictable.  Hahaha! As I've said before, I don't mind cliches as long as they are done well (and there's nicely drawn eye candy...ahem...cough...cough).

Oh and some notes for some folks for whom English is a second language:

• "Spirits" -- euphemism for alcohol and whiskey
• "Working woman" -- euphemism for "prostitute"

I hadn't realized that it's been more than 3 months since we last released a chapter of this series. Time does fly! Anyhow, we are accelerating this series. Our goal is to complete the series in September, which means we will be release 2 or 3 chapters per month. In fact, chapter 4 will be released tomorrow!

Let's give thanks to Amrai for her wonderful translation. This series is quite a challenge both in terms of translation and English adaptation. In light of the recently reignited honorific debate, I experimented by using English equivalents of Japanese honorifics. I'm not sure I like it and I know some of you who understand the importance of honorifics may not like it either.  I think, though, you can guess the Japanese honorific if you give it some thought. Anyhow, I'm still on the fence with respect to honorifics. I prefer to use them when the characters are Japanese in Japan and I think it's inappropriate to use them with non-Japanese characters that are not in Japan.

New Series: "Ojousama no Untenshu" ("The Young Lady's Chauffeur") Chapter 1

At long last, we get started on this series.  Again, this is another casualty of "Kuro Lala" and "Shiro Lala".  Hopefully, though, now that we are started, we can put out a chapter every month or two.  This is another series with CRAZY redraws, so I can't guarantee monthly releases, but we'll do our best.  We are doing this series in conjunction with Heart Crusade.  Heart Crusade will be helping out with some of horrendous redraws.
