Banner Submissions -- Don't Steal other Artists' Artwok

I love receiving and using banners from fans. However, I was informed that one of the banners I was using used artwork from an artist who doesn't like her artwork used without her permission.  The person who sent the banner claimed it was their own work and removed the original artist watermark. So... just to be clear... if you are scouring Deviart Art or similar sites for artwork to use in a banner:

  1. Make sure to ask permission from the artist before using the image.
  2. Please make sure in you e-mail or communication that you tell the artist you are using the image to make a banner for Omari's Sister website.
  3. Do not remove any of the artist's watermarks.
  4. When you send banners to me, please tell me where the original artwork came from.  Please include a link or an e-mail address so I can verify the origin and clear permissions.
If you are confused about what is "your" artwork or creation, here are some questions to ask yourself.
  1. Did I draw or paint the base image myself? Yes -- It's yours, No -- It's not your, clear permissions and credit the artist.
  2. Did I find some artwork I like and then altered the image by cropping, applying filters, and adding other artistic elements? Yes -- the base image is not yours. Clear permissions and credit the artist.
(Yes, I see the irony in all this... but just do it.)

More Winter Banners Needed!

I need more winter banners.  I prefer PSD files so I can make adjustments if needed, but jpeg and png are fine also (two versions -- with and without text).  The banners have to be 1200-pixel wide and between 150 - 300-pixels high.  Use the contact link at the top of the right column in this blog to send them to me.

Don't leave this poor blog bannerless.  If you do, I fear Tiki and Lily will hijack the space for themselves T_T.

Summer and Fall Banners! Make Some, Please!

My banner has been highjacked by birdies AGAIN!  Yikes!  I've almost exhausted all of the excellent banners you guys made for Spring. Now it's time for some new banners and I'm turning to the community again for your creativity :). Please make us some wonderful banners for Summer and Fall. Remember that Fall will feature spooky short series and one-shots, so some spooky banners would be nice. The dimensions are 1050 pixels wide by 200 pixels high. Leave a 470 x 50 pixel area in the lower left for the menu bar. If you can, please send the image as a PSD so I can alter them if I need to. If you can't send a PSD, they you can send a JPEG or a PNG. You can send them to me via e-mail through the contact link in the main menu, or you can link to the image file via a comment to this post. If you need a piece of material to make your banner from me, just ask :). I look forward to seeing what you all come up with :).
