2014 Series and Oneshot Stats Summary

I'll keep this simple by displaying two charts. I don't want to give exact numbers, so I normalized the data.

There are no surprises about the top series. "Risou no Kareshitachi" was surprisingly the hit oneshot of last year. While being the most popular, this is also the oneshot that I received the most email expressing displeasure about. The least read oneshots were all of the ones released for Halloween, with "The Doll Friend" stories filling the bottom.  I'm not sure what to make of this given the popularity of "Risou Kareshitachi".

I think the only influence that this data will have on me will be our Halloween selections. With the exception of "Drive" and "Mimi no Kieta Hi", the group was "meh" on the oneshots I selected. It was slim pickings last year, but I think if I can't find stuff at least the group is enthusiastic about, then we won't do it. Unless there are some focused horror efforts from the Japanese shoujo and josei publishers in 2015, we'll definitely have a scaled down Halloween oneshot party.

Crimson Flower 2014 Oneshot/Short Series Stats

I decided to take a look at the performance of our Valentine's Day oneshots and the other oneshots and short series we've completed this year. I'll just publish the numbers here now, since I haven't made any sense of what the numbers mean. I'm not really sure whether I can.

The readership is normalized against "Risou no Kareshitachi" which had the highest readership.

  1. Risou no Kareshitachi -- 1.00
  2. Hajimari wa Suna no Ichiya -- .8
  3. Lip Smoke -- .72
  4. Risou no Ouji no Tsurikata -- .45
  5. Ringo no Asobikata -- .43
  6. Tobenai Washi -- .4
  7. Kuma-san to Issho -- .34
  8. Megane no Incubus -- .31
My Ranking from Favorite to Least Favorite
  1. Lip Smoke -- shoujo age-gap romance
  2. Risou no Kareshitachi -- shoujo horror
  3. Ringo no Asobikata -- shoujo psychological
  4. Kuma-san to Issho -- shoujo horror (zombie apocalypse)
  5. Risou no Ouji no Tsurikata (guilty pleasure) -- shoujo royal social gap romance with historical setting
  6. Tobenai Washi -- shoujo fantasy with animal themes
  7. Hajimari wa Suna no Ichiya -- Josei desert prince romance
  8. Megane no Icubus -- shoujo supernatural high school romance

What surprises me the most is the poor performance of "Megane no Incubus". Granted the female MC wasn't to my liking, but it seems in typical shoujo, this is the preferred type of heroine. Between the first chapter and the last, it lost 37% of the readers. Supernatural high school romances are popular license getters, so I expected it would be popular.  I also thought "Kuma-san to Issho" would do better, but I guess zombies were too far out of readers' shoujo comfort zone.  As for "Risou no Kareshitachi" coming out on top, I know some people were lured by the beginning because it started out like a typical high school shoujo and by the end, they were taken somewhere they didn't want to go. I think the pure shock value keeps small waves of readers coming to it every couple of weeks. "Ringo no Asobikata" seems to be one of those oneshots that only a few people got. I'm actually surprised it's hanging out in the middle of pack. I don't know... feel free offer your explanations in the comments section. "Lip Smoke" and "Hajimari" did well as I expected. No surprises with those two.

Anyhow... a lot of what's planned for the June oneshot party is different from what we done before.

January 2014 Statistics and Announcements

January went pretty well. We finished "Magnolia" and "Wild Wing".  I wanted to get some of "Rex Fabula" completed, but I didn't have time to do the translations. However, image editing continued in the background, so progress is being made. Anyhow, here are some statistics from last month:

Retranslation -- We are not accepting any new translation partners for a few months. I, Kuroneko003, am currently overwhelmed and cannot handle the flood of requests while continuing to manage and work on projects for CF. We will continue working with our regular Spanish, French, Italian, Vietnamese, and Portuguese partners, though.

Oneshots -- Our theme continues to be horror and psychological. There will be a few other surprises too!

August 2013 Statistics, September 2013 Plans, and General Announcements (Attack on Titan Shoujo Spinoff)

September Plans

I'm personally making a push to complete "Kanajo ni Naru Hi".

June Statistics and July Announcements!

I went and checked the stats from Google Analytics rather than the Blogger stats, and WHOA! Our anniversary oneshot party was very successful! We had readership exceeding the height of Ouran, AnS, and J + K triple whammie!  Actually, it was our best month EVER! The "Lovely Vampire Weddings" compilation was incredibly popular.  Your voices have been heard and I enjoy stories like that, so we will be bringing you more from that publishing line starting this fall! We will also be bringing you more Nao Tsukiji starting in August. And we will now resume releasing oneshots regularly.  If I were purely looking at stats, it seems like the readers mainly want oneshots and "Magnolia". Haha! It makes me wonder whether there's any point to finishing Rex Fabula. I've already read it... sooo... sigh...  Anyhow, let's get to the June stats:

Coming up for July!
We've got some concrete items on the schedule and some project that are being worked on in the background that might get finished in July. One of those projects in "many".  I'm quite optimistic that it will be released before the end of July.  We are also making nice progress on "LLLL".  Both of these are new short series.  We also hope for finish up "Hakamori Majo Bianca" and to take another big bite out of "Rex Fabula".  We will have a double release of "Magnolia." Chapter 32 is ready for release, but we're just waiting for it to be July already.  Also the first chapter of Akane Ogura's newest series "Kanojo ni Naru Hi" ("Becoming a Girl Day") is ready for release. Our July oneshots will be a combination of works that were not completed in time for our anniversary and three other works:

  • Jinrou Chronicle
  • Ogaku Mieru Otoko
  • Lip Smoke
  • Koi Koiegau
  • Kutsunatsuhime
It should be a packed month! Please check the release schedule for details.  We are still recruiting for the summer as we begin working on oneshots for Halloween!  So if you wanna help translate, edit images, or typeset, please drop me an e-mail and I'll get you started!

Statistics! March at Omari's Sister! and Announcements!

First of all, I want to thank all the Omari's Sister volunteers for a successful March. We finished "Kemono Kingdom: Zoo" and the main story of "Furou Kyoudai", while managing to complete our usual monthly releases! It was an amazing month!

I'd like to welcome some new members to the Omari's Sister team:
Akire Shiro: Cleaner -- She's been working on a lot future releases, so her name will be popping up in the credit A LOT very soon.

Julia:  Cleaner/Redraw Artist -- She's been helping with the cleaning and the redrawing on the Vampire Wedding oneshot trio. She's quite skilled.

Dian and Krazy Kat: Redraw Artists -- They've been helping out here and there with various series.

Peonine: Translator -- She lives in France and has been translating short oneshots.

T, Dango-chan, A.Mere.Trifle: Proofreaders/QCers -- They were big helps on KKZoo and Furou Kyoudai

Hopefully, the new folks stick around for a spell.  If you would like to join the Omari's Sister team, we are currently actively recruiting all position. We are in urgent need of Japanese to English translators and redraw artists right now.  If you are interested, please see our recruitment webpage HERE.

Omari's Sister Store is ALWAYS OPEN now! I'll announce when I do a major stocking of new items, otherwise check back often so see what trickles in.  LINK  We need money to buy magazines and tankoubon, so buy some stuff to keep the manga flowing!

Okay, onto the stats!

W00t! W00t! I hope you readers enjoyed Kemono Kingdom and Furou Kyoudai.  If you have not read either, please take the time to check these series out.  Kemono Kingdom is very under appreciated, but I feel like it's one of our best series.  Please at least give the first 2 or 3 chapters a chance. The quirky humor will grow on you.

April we hope to take big bite out of "Rex Fabula". Our stretch goal is to finish the series, but... I imagine it'll take at least a couple of big pushes to finish the series.

  3. France
  4. Germany
  5. Philippines
  6. Australia
  7. Indonesia
  8. United Kingdom
  9. Italy
  10. Spain
Last month we finished "Detarame Mousouryoku Opera" and "Ojousama no Untenshu." I extend a big thanks to Ichigo Stars and Kurohaineko for taking on and completing a ridiculous amount of stoopidly hard redraws. Thanks to them, the releases looked wonderful! This also ticks two projects off of our unfinished projects list! Hooray!!! We're making progress.

Our plans are pretty straight forward for February.  We will finish "Fushigi no Maria-kun" and complete two chapters of "Furou Kyoudai." "Magnolia" is on hiatus this month.  And lastly, we are close to releasing "Pochamani" chapter 4.

We are currently in the process of picking new projects. If all goes well with "Fushigi no Maria-kun" and "Furou Kyoudai" we will start doing oneshots again in April, but at the rate of one per month until we complete our other incomplete series. We will not start any new series until June with debuts during our 4th anniversary celebration.

December Plans, Winter Break Recruitment, and November Stats

December is going to be much sparser than I planned.  The mature josei oneshot for Bakeneko's Lair is going to 3 weeks to complete and there's the craziness of the holidays.  So expect the next chapter of Magnolia to be the only release on Omari's Sister.  If we're lucky, I might be able to eek out something else. But! Do not feel sad, because January and February will be glorious. While I'm working on the josei oneshot, the rest of the group and our temps will be lending us part of their winter breaks to work on winter releases :). There should be a lot of projects close to completion at the close of year.  And! I promise you adults out there that the josei oneshot is well worth the wait and foregoing more releases.  Yes, yes, it's a wonderful sexy, funny, romantic, and sweet fairytale.

On that note, we are recruiting. If you would like to volunteer briefly over winter break, we'd be happy to have you. We need cleaners, redraw artists, and onehot translators. Of course you are welcome to stay after the break. If you are interested, please send an e-mail to me, Kuroneko003, at omarissister@gmail.com.

Now let's look back at November. There are no surprises here. "Ore to Atashi no Kareshisama" was the most downloaded release. Onto the breakdown!

August 2012 Statistics, September Plans and AnS

August was our themed one-shot month.  I think it went pretty well, though in the future after Halloween and Christmas, we are probably going to limit it to 3 or 4 one-shots instead of 6.  I wanted to do a more stark alternation between series and one-shots, but from now and into 2013, we have too many on-going series that we need to moving.

In September, we plan to make some progress on our series, though I admit at this moment I don't have a firm release schedule.  As of now "Ojousama no Untenshu, " "Fushigi no Maria-kun," "Furou Kyoudai," and "Servamp" are being worked on. We are also working on one-shots for our Halloween/October one-shot party.  The plan for this month is to go with the flow and see what gets done.  We have one planned one-shot from Tsukiji Nao and Aka Lala is coming in on the 11th or 12th, but until I see the magazine, I don't know how much of it we'll cover and what the schedule will look like.  I do know though with respect to Aka Lala, we will not be paying any attention to what other groups are doing.  We may duplicate efforts, but we are not going to rush.  Rather we will work at our own pace and deliver our best effort.

Okay, now on to a detailed look at August's activities.

July 2012 Statistics

Here are some statistics from July.  We passed the 3 million views mark! That was pretty cool. Readership has dropped somewhat with the absence of "Akagami no Shirayukihime." It doesn't impact what we do, but it's interesting see what people come to the blog for and what people often check for on the blog. Most of those views lasted less than a second.  To be honest, I kinda enjoyed not having the AnS hanging over my shoulder for the last two months.

We didn't have as many releases as we had hoped in July.  "Detarame Mousouryoku Opera" killed the first 10 days of the month for me and Ichi.  I've started on the last chapter, but I was so mad at how much time it chewed up that I've put it aside until can forgive the series and finish it.

Okay, onto the stats!

Haha! Wrong website for J+K folks.  Head on over to Turtle Paradise for that series. And we have no intention of resuming that series, so don't ask. It's rude to us and it's rude to Turtle Paradise. We aren't interested in it and Aya Shouoto has asked scanlators to quit scanlating her works.  We intend to respect the mangaka's stated wishes.

Anyhow...May is here and there are a lot of releases that are close to being done. Hopefully, we can make up for a craptacular April.

January 2012 Statistics

In January, we made a big push to release chapters from some long neglected series and a couple of new series.  We introduced "Ojou-sama no Untenshu" and "Ore to Atashi no Kareshi-sama".  Both series were received well.  We also welcomed a new image editor, Kayori.  Kayori has been providing some of the wonderful banners you've been seeing on the blog lately.  Let's all welcome Kayori to the group!

Now onto the numbers!

Omari's Sister's 2011 Stats

I've been having a heck of time pulling myself from "Rex Fabula" to get this post out.  Haha! There are a few interesting developments at the beginning of chapter 4 that got me hooked.  But if I don't do this post now, I'll be on the crazy January OS train and I won't do it at all.

There were a lot of surprises for me in the statistics for 2011.  You guys sure do like your one-shots!  I did not expect that.  Actually, I expected a backlash.  But...I'm cool with that.  I love one-shots now and I hope we get do many more in 2012.

Some milestones for 2012:
